I think the issue lies in Steam re-compressing data during LAN transfers, which increases transfer time compared to downloading pre-compressed files from servers. The host PC's CPU usage adds extra overhead. Previously, I could achieve 2.5Gbit between Steam PCs; now even high-end systems perform much slower with real-time compression.

Members, the answer came when we increased steam's priority and boosted the speed to 2Gbps. Eventually, I discovered the fix.
