at 1333MHz mixing different brands is not a major concern. typically the challenge with blending brands is limited RAM speed, but your configuration should handle it fine. additionally, even if RAM only operates at 1066 MHz occasionally, triple channel 1066 performs better than dual channel 1333, so it remains acceptable.

It’s feasible that using a very inexpensive dimmer pack could slow things down to 1066, especially if the used market prices are low. However, purchasing a 1333 setting would be a safe choice.

Using my X5690 E.S., I can handle 4+4 and fill the rest with 2s—it works great. Don’t stress about getting fast RAM; you won’t get much benefit with an X series if you want memory speed improvements. For better performance, you’ll need a W series Xeon. Still, you should be able to reach around 1000MHz consistently if your hardware is solid.

Using my X5690 E.S., I can handle 4+4 and fill the rest with 2s—it works great. Don’t stress about getting fast RAM; you won’t get much benefit with an X series if you want memory speed improvements. okay,ill just go for 4+4+4+2+2+2,and probably stay with the x5650,save up $20 by not going for 5670 and add those money for my new mouse. I hope this ^ is smart because i really need a new mouse (planning to get a steelseries rival 3)

Increase the BCLK frequency from 133 MHz to 200 MHz. Fine-tune the memory multiplier to meet specifications. Raise the CPU voltage until stability is achieved. It’s straightforward to overclock the 6-core Westmere CPUs. Below is an example for the W3670. These items cost $27 on eBay, but you could easily push your current setup further.
