comparison of i5-6600k voltage and performance
Hi,
I have a quick question. Should I aim for higher Cinbench scores like 711 points, even if it means more heat, or should I prioritize lower scores with less heat? I've tried various offsets and found one that consistently hits 145mV+ with good auto load line calibration. One configuration gave me 1.296 Vcore (709 Cinbench) at 58.5 degrees, while another at 1.328 Vcore (744 Cinbench) at 68 degrees. Should I focus on better performance per temperature or pure speed?
What speeds are you achieving?
I'm running my i5 6600k at 4.0GHz with 1.160VCore, and it stays under 60C.
Anything below 75C is acceptable, though you might want to slightly reduce the voltage if you intend to use it continuously.
Your query is a bit unclear, but I recommend aiming for the highest possible clocks, using a voltage of 1.3 or less, and keeping temperatures around 70C maximum.
Thanks for the clarification. The issue is with maintaining stable voltages when lowering the settings. Running +170mV in offset mode causes a significant rise to 1.328, and the system becomes unstable at level 4. I'm wondering if switching to auto or a lower voltage setting would help keep the CPU running smoothly.
