High speed RAM isn't just for overclocking, and you don’t have to pay a premium for it. Many top models (7000+) come with outdated XMP profiles and poor timing, which hurt performance more than help it. Cheap RAM with decent timings can still work fine, but it won’t really boost speed. Fast RAM isn’t worth the hassle unless you’re trying to squeeze performance through, but even then, small improvements are hard to notice.
I closely examined RAM recently, but its effect appears significant only when your CPU is limited—better invest in the next CPU upgrade instead.
