When looking at the Zephyrus G15's RTX3070 model versus the rx6800m Strix G15, the prices seem quite similar. What influences this is the higher cost of the Strix model due to its more advanced RGB options, greater RAM and SSD customization, and improved thermal management. The AMD GPU does play a role, but it’s not the sole factor. The Strix G15 also offers a 1080p display, quieter speakers, no fingerprint scanner, and fewer I/O ports compared to the Zephyrus. It’s unclear which one you’d choose based on your budget—consider what matters most to you.

this reddit captures the essence of what you're exchanging when investing in a series. what specific qualities are you seeking in a laptop, and which activities should it support once purchased?

That was the main focus of the discussion. The key goal was to gather details since the prices on Strix seemed unrealistically low.
But my aim is to find a primary gaming device—initially thinking about a desktop, now planning a laptop due to future mobility. It should have at least 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD that can be upgraded. A Ryzen processor with a minimum of 5900HS (or lower if better GPU performance is needed). A GPU with at least 100W 3070 performance. A screen with 165Hz resolution, though I’m unsure if QHD is necessary or if FHD suffices. Essential I/O ports for a gamer in 2021 are required. Obviously, solid thermal performance is important. At least some RGB lighting on the keyboard would be nice (though a single zone is fine).
The budget should stay under $2300, and even $2200 feels tight. I narrowed it down to three laptops that match my requirements: Razer Blade 14, Zephyrus G15, and Strix G15 Advantage.
The Strix G15 Advantage appears to be the AMD equivalent of the Scar 15, featuring a 5900HS and RX 3070, but prices vary widely between these models, which is why this topic emerged.
