Asus Zenbook features an Ultra 9 processor with 185 hours of battery life, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The display is an OLED 14-inch screen. The Macbook M1 Pro offers an M1 Pro chip, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a Liquid Retina XDR 14-inch display. In terms of performance, the Zenbook side appears superior. Both models are priced similarly—what do you prefer?

It's really up to you to make the decision (it's your money). Unless you require MacOS for certain programs, it doesn't seem necessary—just you.

I don't require any software, but I want to use macOS. I can also study computer engineering.

It looks like you've already made your choice on what to purchase next.
Learning engineering doesn't depend much on the specific laptop or operating system you choose.
The earlier discussion about software was about applications that don't work on both Windows and MacOS.

I'm considering using macOS but think the ZenBook performs better with its hardware. Its display, memory, processor, and SSD are superior in many areas. I'm still undecided.

The Windows environment offers greater compatibility with various programs. MacOS cannot be installed on devices outside the Apple ecosystem.

Comparing specs isn't straightforward across different operating systems. macOS tends to handle memory more efficiently, for instance, the Mac's battery life is actually double, and performance matches plugged-in power. I own a 14” M1 model that has worked perfectly for three years. With an iPhone, the experience is noticeably better too.

The condition of the battery after three years depends on various factors such as usage, maintenance, and type. It's important to monitor its performance regularly.

In the 90s it's still relevant, though it varies with usage. I don't use it at full power and it's not the only device on my system. Still, a longer-lasting battery means fewer charge cycles and improved performance.
