Comparison chart for Witcher 3 980Ti and 980 FPS performance.
After facing a series of disappointing updates and performance issues, I finally secured a solid MSI Gaming 980 Ti to replace my aging STRIX 980. The game had been lagging in Witcher 3 even before the monitor upgrade, so I wanted to restore its smoothness without sacrificing visual quality. I applied several tweaks from the CD Project Red forums, adjusting settings like Physx to CPU, boosting performance, pre-rendering frames, and increasing AF. Some changes were tricky—AA, Vignante, Motion Blur, Game Blur, and Depth Perception were left on—but overall the results were noticeable. The test route was challenging, with varied environments from small towns to forests and a final run through a village. While not flawless, the upgrade significantly improved my experience compared to the previous setup. Stock-wise, the 980 Ti delivered a noticeable boost over the 980, especially after overclocking it to stable speeds.
Not too concerned about the score numbers, but really appreciate the link! I'm tweaking my settings now, hoping to boost my frame rate.
I hope I could capture those frame rates, but I only managed around 45 fps at ultra settings with a 1680x1050 resolution.
