It’s because Mantle optimizes performance beyond what DX11.1 can achieve, boosting frame rates significantly even on a high-end system. Everyone you spoke to likely experienced only minor gains, but with Mantle, the improvement is much more noticeable.

Each system behaves uniquely. Previously, I noticed only a small 11fps variation with the mantle. 2500k, 5ghz, and 7970.

Earlier discussions highlighted that each platform behaves uniquely. When AMD launched Mantle, they claimed it would benefit certain users more than others.

It seems your CPU overclock might be causing instability and poor performance in DX.

I've been tweaking this for two years. Ran a prime for 15 hours after initial testing to check stability.

Even with a top-tier CPU, Mantle seems capable of handling the BF4 engine background data more efficiently than DX11. It may not be perfect for everyone, but when it functions, it performs well.

Are those 50fps a typical rate or just a rare sight? Those spikes to 300fps when nothing is in view likely skew the average. The best insights come from the lowest numbers, since they matter most.
