The Xeon E3-1220 v6 offers higher clock speeds and more cores, making it better for multi-threaded tasks. The E3-1230 v5 provides stronger single-core performance but fewer threads. Choose based on your workload needs.

It makes sense—the better CPU has more threads, higher clock speed, and both use the same 14nm process, so IPC differences should be minimal. Are you planning to use many threads? If yes, go for the 1230v5; otherwise, save money and choose the 1220v6.

I aimed to apply it across various games including WZ2, Valorant, CS:GO, and Apex Legends.

You should go for the 4c/8t setup—it handles discord or a background browser better, offers steadier 1% lows, and modern games run smoother with these chips.
