Compare the two models and see which suits your gaming needs best. Since you're on a tight budget, focus on performance rather than cost.

The Aorus Extreme and Godlike boards are both massive, massive overkill for almost everything. Doubt there's any real measurable difference between the two, just get whichever one you think looks nicest. Or if you're into RGB, look into ASUS boards because AURA Sync's software is usually nicer than other OEMs. They have the Crosshair VIII Formula around that price range. If you want the true god board and plan to run a custom loop, go for this: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JxsnTW/...-x570-aqua Cool $1K for this board lol, and they're limited edition too.

The x570 Aorus Extreme includes a 10 GBps Ethernet adapter. If budget isn't a concern, these units seem more expensive than the latest Threadripper chipsets available.

The x570 asrock aqua one would perform adequately without a custom water loop, but you’d need to consider your specific needs. A custom loop isn’t strictly mandatory unless you want optimal cooling performance.

For gaming it doesn't matter. The X570 Godlike offers poor I/O at its cost. There are superior and more affordable options available. Even the Creation model from MSI seems to be a better deal with significant savings.

It includes a monolithic block for the CPU, VRMs, and chipset. Operating without a liquid cooling loop wouldn't effectively manage the VRMs and chipset temperatures. If you're using air cooling, Godlike, Aorus Extreme, and Crosshair VIII Formula are top choices. @WereCat mentioned some I/O problems with Godlike, so I'd steer clear of that one (especially after paying a premium for limited flexibility).

I think if PC manufacturers began plating their parts in gold and charging thousands per unit, they’d still attract buyers. Most motherboards cost between 150-200 dollars for gaming, and Ryzen CPUs work well even with a mid-range MSI B450 A-Pro MAX.

considering the cost, TRX40 boards are best if you're willing to pay the premium. using thread ripper CPUs will help you reach up to 4 M.2 drives and 72 PCI E lanes. these boards and any X570 variant are constrained by chipset design and CPU architecture limits. they fall short in that price range. check out this overview: https://www.anandtech.com/show/15121/the...verview-/5

You're thinking about upgrading from the X3950 to the X4000 later on.
