Your current build includes a Ryzen 7 1700, 32GB RAM, X370 motherboard, Radeon Sapphire Vega 64 with Nitro+, Corsair Rm750x GPU, and a PSU. You’re into gaming but also use the PC for music production and 3D design. Consider whether the Ryzen 7 upgrade will give you noticeable gains or if the R9 is worth the investment. On Amazon, the 7 costs £280, while the 9 is £430—you might wait for a better deal. You’ll also add a Noctua NH-D15 cooler unless you find a more suitable option. Thanks!

Consider recommending the Ryzen 9 3900X if it's available near the price of the Ryzen 7 3800X, thanks to its superior cooler and automatic OC/boost capabilities under suitable conditions. It generally offers better overclocking potential due to more accurate binning.

The optimal choice is 3900X. Particularly useful when integrating MacOS X for music and 3D light design, the additional four cores will make a significant difference.
