Which processor suits the game best depends on meeting its needs, and between 8 logical cores versus 6 physical cores, the latter offers more future-proofing.

Neither of those chips is an 8C/8T model. What are your current tasks? Would you think about using an AMD Ryzen? It provides significantly higher performance, more cores and threads (SMT), at a much lower cost compared to most Intel options.

1. gaming
2. yes
3. checking if a 4C8T CPU can handle games needing 6 or 8 cores

It seems you're referring to a specific game, but details are missing. Generally, games don't list specs directly in their core or thread requirements. If you know the CPU model, that helps narrow it down. Regarding your budget, let me know the range you're considering for CPU and motherboard together!

For gaming, the 9400f offers better performance compared to the newer 10100. The 9th-gen Intel platform on Z390 boards is outdated, and the 10th-gen Intel on Z490 is too expensive. Intel provides less value than Ryzen. I’d recommend avoiding both CPUs. Opt for Ryzen instead—around $500 for your whole setup or just CPU and motherboard.

Full assembly... However, h410 or b450 options will likely be affordable.

the components you chose include a GPU, PSU, and other parts. you're purchasing from a country that offers these items. the h410 model has certain restrictions, its RAM speed is fixed and hard to change, and the list continues. the b450 is an AMD chipset designed for CPUs, it's more affordable, and the CPUs themselves are also cheaper, allowing you to allocate more budget to other parts of your setup.
