1600 works with RX580. A B450 Tomahawk gets you there, and you can aim for a 3600 later if needed.

nowadays i believe memory support isn't an issue anymore, it used to be a bigger concern during early life

there's not much gain from 1st gen to 2nd gen... $50 is worth it for high refresh rate gameplay in upgrading 2nd gen to 3rd gen, but that's another thing and not like you'll see the difference with only an RX 580. That's at least a 2060 thing

Usually avoid purchasing anything right now with plans to improve it later. Most cases result in financial loss. Consider getting the 3600 now, or opt for the 1600 and replace it later.
