I'm looking into buying a computer for mainly productivity tasks such as compiling code and video and image manipulation, although I will be playing games sometimes, but it's not the main purpose of this machine. Where I live the price (converted to dollars) for a 2600 is about 170 USD. The 3600 is 250 USD. Do you think the performance advantages of the 3600 are worth it with this price delta. I can also get a 2700 for the same price as a 3600. Buying used unfortunately is not a viable option because all I can find locally is sandy bridge i5s and used current cpus that are nearly the same price as a new one. Thanks! Edit: I will be giving the computer in my flair to my dad so don't tell me to just keep my 1600

When competing in PvP or earning income online, the 80USD investment is worthwhile; otherwise, the 2600 offers a better value. Keep in mind that many users are likely to upgrade to older models like the X570 or 3600 within a few years.
