Hello, my new setup is almost set up and I still have time until Monday to process the payment since the weekend is off. I’m keeping my options open just in case I need something later. As discussed before, I’m not planning to play games on it often, though I might use it occasionally. I intend to keep it for a long time—probably decades. My wife is also working on Vray for interior design, so she might use it sometimes as well. I doubt it will be needed much, but it could come in handy if we ever need it elsewhere. I’m considering only these three GPUs: the one mentioned here, the RX 6700 XT, and the 3070. The prices seem similar for both the 3060 Ti and the 6700 XT, so I think sticking with the 3060 Ti makes sense. For the 3070, I’d have to pay about 15% more. Would it be worth the extra cost, or is it just a small difference? Thanks!

Vray is an interesting tool, wondering which application your partner might use for rendering? I’m trained in architecture and have experience using this plugin with Sketchup and 3DSMax. Besides your partner’s rendering tasks, what other applications will you be using the platform? If you plan to render with Lumion, a gaming GPU would offer better performance compared to a high-end workstation GPU. Remember, if stability and basic needs are your priority, a workstation GPU could be worthwhile, especially since you’re mainly using Vray as a plugin.

Absolutely, that's a typo—she meant to say "typo" but it came out as "mistake." It's clear she's working on her project using SketchUp, and while the rendering hasn't finished yet, things are progressing. Hopefully soon she'll have a roof in the final version. If it does, she'll probably have new upgrades, especially since she recently bought a new MacBook. She might not be researching as thoroughly as she could, given the price of the 5500 XT she got. Overall, everything seems promising, though.

She's considering using the PC occasionally—though I'm not sure when—and she won't be playing games on it much anymore. I won't play games to be honest. I haven't played PC games in about ten years, and when I did, they were pretty old. What matters most is the performance of her RX 6700 and whether it can handle future GPU tasks without major issues.

I know my own experience here. When I bought a new station last year, it was a high-end Dell laptop with solid specs. It's been nine years now, and while it still works, it's starting to lag and isn't as smooth as I'd like. I remember feeling let down when I tried 3DMark tests after it, especially with the GPU she thought was great. It probably wasn't up to top-tier games at launch, which might explain why she didn't try it then.

It makes sense, I switched topics and then reversed it. The 6700xt seems fine, but it uses less power than the Nvidia cards. I’m thinking about getting a 6800xt soon...

Considering rising energy costs in the EU is certainly a positive sign.

Unless your devices can leverage the power of a separate graphics card, I wouldn't purchase one right now. The built-in graphics perform adequately. You can always upgrade later. Purchasing today might lead to dissatisfaction if costs drop or new features emerge.

This was actually my plan today, but I realized the motherboard has both HDMI and DisplayPort, so I can connect two monitors immediately. I think I can handle it for a month or maybe two, since I still have my Alienware. Then I might buy the 3070 at a good price and pay for the current 6700 RX. There could be a new release in the next two months that will lower the price, or I might find a decent deal without much effort.

Another motherboard supports 2 HDMI and 2 DPI outputs. See the link for details.

This setup stands out compared to Mortar. It’s a bit pricier, but the extra HDMI and display ports are valuable for me. With that, I can save on getting a GPU at a better price.
