Comparing the Dell Precision 7710 and 7720 models
Hello everyone, I’m looking to buy a workstation on eBay and have two models that seem a bit confusing to decide between. One is a Dell Precision 7710 with Xeon E3-1535 v5, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and Quadro M5000M. The other is the Dell Precision 7720 with Intel Core i7 6820HQ, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and Quadro P4000. I’m a bit unsure about the Quadro P4000 in the 7720 compared to the M5000M, which is why I’m seeking your advice. What do you think? Thanks in advance.
The precision 7710 was priced at $460, while the precision 7720 cost $400. It might be feasible to upgrade to the 7720 despite its higher price, especially if you pair it with a low-spec graphics card. However, the P4000 graphics card seems more suitable for my needs compared to the M5000M. I prefer the Xeon V5 in the 7710 over the i7 6820hq in the 7720, but I’m wondering if the Xeon’s speed is truly so fast that it makes the i7 6820hq in the 7720 unworthy, or if the differences aren’t that significant.
