Good afternoon everyone. I’m looking for guidance on selecting between a PCIe Wi-Fi adapter and a Wi-Fi extender with an Ethernet connection for my PC. Both support the AC1200 band and dual 2.4/5GHz bands. Which option offers better speed, reliability, and signal reach at 5GHz? I’ve also thought about using Ethernet cables or a powerline adapter, but my apartment layout and socket positions make those options impractical. Thank you for your assistance.

The PCIe* relies on the adapter and the extender. Certain adapters include features like beam shaping to help capture signals. Your router supports AC1200? Many people forget about it.

I chose the PCIe adapter, but that device doesn’t manage heavy traffic well. If you’re connecting many gadgets, think about adding a solid router too.
