Comparing the two models highlights a ~$150 price increase. The upgrade to the 3900X offers notable improvements, especially with an RTX 3080 at higher resolutions. Expect significant performance gains in gaming and multitasking.

A 3700x or 10600k would outperform the 3900 but at 4k the gap would be minimal. A 3600 is sufficient for a 3080 at 4k, with about a 0.1 fps difference between the 3600 and 3900x.

The price gap would likely be significant enough to warrant selling the item for a higher value.

It depends on your specific needs. For gaming, Turbo Boost can significantly enhance performance during demanding tasks, while base clock speed affects overall stability and power efficiency. Consider what aspects matter most for your use case.

they don't reflect true clock speeds during normal use. actually, you should check benchmarks for everyday performance. at 1440p most games are constrained by the GPU, making CPU selection less critical, especially at higher resolutions like 4K.
