Yeah atm here the shortage for CPUs is seemingly dissapearing, atm you can buy a 5950X for MSRP and a 5900X for 599 euro so soon back at MSRP As well. But you guys make a good point, The reason i managed to keep a hold of my old CPU So long was because intel was slacking hard af. Now that AMD and Intel both woke up it will go a lot faster. I think I'll wait for next week, I'm sure the price will than return to MSRP for the 5900X and I'll just buy that. Its just gonna suck cuz I'll need to buy a new Mobo again when I upgrade. And probably new RAM
Absolutely, you're right. I'm focusing on getting the best value from what I have.
It's not true if you avoid running at full speed. The 5900X can increase in performance similar to or even surpass the 5950X due to fewer cores per CCX, offering more power and better heat management. I lowered its voltage using the PBO2 curve optimizer, achieving a boost to 4.95GHz. The main advantage of the 5950X is simply having additional cores/threads, which isn't beneficial if you don't require handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
However, this means it's a high-performance version with a smaller rating.
In the aftermarket, folks are focusing on the chip that offers the greatest customization potential, rather than the one with a fixed specification.
