Averaging results over many matches gives you a good idea, though some titles provide big performance gains with X3D. Most Battleroyale games work well, strategy titles, city builders, and MMO experiences all benefit from it, particularly when memory access is frequent. In the lowest frame rates—0.1% and 1%—performance jumps noticeably. Games like Valorant and CS:GO depend mainly on single-core speed; X3D won’t make a difference there. GTA V has an engine constraint where higher FPS causes noticeable stutter, so keeping around 120 FPS is ideal. This means 5700X and 5800X3D might be excessive for that game.
It might be better to consider AM5 instead, as AM5 has some current problems.
For longer-term use, a 5800x3d works well with AM4 systems. If you decide to upgrade the CPU later, it might not be necessary. This setup offers a strong pairing of a 3600 and a 3060ti. Keeping funds for your next build is also wise when your current hardware is fairly balanced.
Zen2 runs slower than Zen3, and you'd still see a noticeable gap even without playing.
