I’m thinking about going with the 3300x option. Fingers crossed my PC stays functional for a while—maybe not in 4-5 years, but at least I’ll get more feedback soon. I’d appreciate a few extra responses for a couple of days, some different perspectives, and perhaps someone ready to challenge my ideas!

I also believe the 3300x offers better value. With your focus mainly on gaming, extra cores won't add much value. 4c/8t should suffice for the coming years, especially given the GPUs you're considering won't require a high frame rate. The performance gap between resolutions could also diminish, making the CPU less critical. Switching to 1440p might reduce reliance on CPU power since many titles will run within GPU limits. If you plan to stream or edit in a few years, the 3600 could be a smarter choice. For context, I'm still using a 4c/8t 4790k for gaming and it's performing well.
