I'm setting up a PC for non-gaming use, mainly for heavy Java development and compiling code in Eclipse. I need a machine that can multitask well while keeping tasks running smoothly. I'm wondering if spending an extra $60 on a Ryzen 5 2400 is worthwhile compared to the Intel Core i3-3100.

I'll proceed with version 3100. The budget should cover a GPU you'll actually require.

Sure, you're thinking about purchasing a 50 dollar GT710.

try to find a better GPU, look for used ones—they’ll have trouble with Baic tasks, and they’ll run much slower than an IGPU.

I wouldn't purchase the GT 710 at this price. An APU or higher-end options like the 3200G, 2400G, or 3400G would be more suitable. The APU could offer better value and performance while being more cost-effective overall.

Are you looking to juggle tasks? The top picks usually involve older Ryzen 5 models with six cores, followed by a budget GPU—even if it's used—it won’t perform well. For the screen, you’ll need something basic.
