Hello, how are you? I understand much of the debate between OS X and Windows has been exhausted online, but I'm seeking some insights for a photography workflow comparison. Both Photoshop and Lightroom function similarly across platforms. Performance should also align with comparable hardware. You're curious about these claims: OS X keeps up better over time, Windows may slow down due to its registry-based system, making booting and shutting down less efficient. OS X's Unix foundation is seen as more secure against viruses and malware. Additionally, some say OS X runs smoother because it doesn't rely on hardware drivers or compatibility issues. The OS utilizes hardware fully. Are these observations accurate? What do you think? Cheers

At a professional level or for work, follow OSX guidelines. Performance remains nearly identical, though Macs aren't without issues and can become sluggish over time.

They usually slow down after installing OS updates, which makes sense because devices can’t handle the workload for years. Upgrading my MBP’s RAM to 16 gigabytes made it run perfectly, and it feels great to have that performance boost.

More data on a computer can cause it to slow down over time. Today’s SSDs make boot times almost immediate. OS X relies on kernel extensions, while Windows uses drivers, but both fully utilize the hardware. For your photography projects, OS X is better suited, and the operating system excels at boosting productivity. I suggest choosing OS X, particularly if you’re using a laptop.
