Comparing new game performances with Ubisoft's titles
After trying numerous titles from 2014 to 2015, I feel we unfairly blamed Ubisoft for their watchdog and ACU’s performance issues last year. In truth, most recent games released since then have faced performance challenges, though in different ways. Let's look at a few examples—GTA V and watchdog. Honestly, watchdog’s graphical output is significantly superior to GTA V. Even though GTA V isn’t a cutting-edge title, it struggles with stuttering and tearing. This game stands out the most in that regard. ACU and Withcer, yes… I agree with you. ACU has some frame rate issues occasionally, but overall it looks better than Witcher from my perspective. The graphics are more detailed and realistic. Witcher’s visuals aren’t great, but ACU still impresses me in this aspect. I’m not a big fan of Ubisoft, but Far Cry 4 comes across as one of the best in terms of visual quality so far. It also has solid "hairwork" and looks much better than Witcher, especially with those details. Everyone’s experience might differ, but I think performance improvements are necessary for new releases now—big updates are needed after launch. Why can’t they deliver a polished product right away? Anyone here sharing this view? Or am I just mistaken? Regards
Many rushed to the excitement. I purchased each Ubi AAA Title last year and appreciated them all.
Some think Watch Dog is more appealing than GTA 5? That’s a fun debate! 😄 How about you?
I liked them a lot. Particularly ACU. I still manage 55-60 FPS when everything is at its maximum on 1200p. But with Witcher? No way...
Honestly, yes—especially once it gets fixed. Still, I’d rather play GTA V if we’re discussing gameplay and story.
Heyyo, Watch_Dogs runs terrible on my system... Doesn't like my GTX 680 SLI setup at all... I still remember on launch day firing up the game and even on the lowest graphics settings? 10 frames per second at all time... broken game is broken. They've made it better... but damn it still has memory leaks. 60fps if I walk around... but if I jump in a car and drive across Chicago? My framerate dips to 30fps and stays there unless I put the graphics on medium sigh. Of all the games in 2014? This one I regret buying the most. I bought into the "hype" train on how good of a game it was going to be... but after experiencing it personally and the performance issues? Nah, it sucks compared to GTA V for graphics quality if you compare performance. I have to crank the settings lower on Watch_Dogs just to maintain 60fps. Broken Disrupt Game Engine... Maybe ACU's performance has improved since I last tried it... but that game has artifacting shadows if I tried SLI. Gave me migraines to try and play... It still blows my mind how this game released so buggy after how fantastic AC Black Flag was. Ubisoft perfected the Anvil Game Engine in AC Black Flag only to botch it on ACU... makes no sense to me. Trying to play ACU with a single GTX 680 gave me performance issues. I don't care about any band-wagons with Ubisoft... but you have to admit, 2013 was their best year... and 2014 wasn't a good year for them if not one of the worst. It's insane how they went from solid releases like Far Cry 3 and AC Black Flag to Watch_Dogs and ACU. I've heard that AC Rogue is a better release on PC but meh, I'm quite disinterested in touching an Ubisoft game for now until maybe a demo or something releases so I can see if it runs decently on my PC. I don't want to waste my money again.
