Comparing Gigabyte X670E Aorus with X670E Aorus Xtreme highlights differences in performance and features.
Hi All, I am currently able to get a Gigabyte X670E Aorus Xtreme (Open Box) for the same price as a Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master (Brand New) Is there a specific benefit to going with the X670E Aorus Xtreme other than the main fact that all M.2 slots support Gen 5 at the cost of lanes from the GPU?
Essentially the same cost, only the original packaging versus the new version—this detail doesn’t matter much as long as everything works properly.
Do you have warranty coverage available, or would you prefer to pay a higher cost for it?
I chose the x670e master instead of the extreme version. It didn’t offer much extra value beyond what I already had. Honestly, I wouldn’t pay an additional $200 just for it. I’d never buy an open-box product like a motherboard—there are too many risks, and I need confidence that it’ll be returned in good shape and thoroughly tested like a factory batch.
It's a solid board overall. If you encounter issues with the UEFI during firmware updates, I had to perform a q-flash system that works without a CPU to access the file. In those cases, both the shell and UEFI methods failed to read the file I was providing.
No problems updating the BIOS, system started normally after a short delay (expected for Ryzen 7000). The main issue is with the iGPU when Steam opens via the desktop shortcut—it takes longer than usual, even though it runs in the background. I suspect this relates to an AMD GPU driver bug, as several users on Steam forums have mentioned similar concerns.
