It’s simpler to hide under carpets or move it around generally; it’s lighter in trunking yet difficult to attach to walls or baseboards, and you can’t easily swap the RJ45 connectors if a fastening tab breaks off. Ideally, avoid placing it beneath the carpet unless it’s in an area that won’t be stepped on. Any cable that gets walked on will eventually fail, though I heard a friend walk on a round cable for years without issues—many pairs came loose, but it still functioned properly.
