The 2698 V4 offers fewer cores compared to the dual 2696 V2, runs at a faster clock speed, uses a 14nm process, and avoids Numa chips. It’s a strong choice but may rely more on software optimization.
I chose the single v4 model based on @Fasauceome's feedback and because it allows you to use much quicker DDR4 RAM instead of the older DDR3 used for the v2 chip. Besides the faster clock speed, the newer chips also offer better performance per core thanks to higher IPC.
However, what I notice on YouTube is that dual E5 performs better in Cinebench R15.
However, what I notice on YouTube shows dual E5 is better than Cinebench R15, while I use Keyshot 9.
Checked a discussion board for Keyshot players seeking the optimal PC setup, found suggestions favoring a single CPU over other components https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=20399.0 It seems that the Numa chip could cause performance issues, even though Cinebench runs smoothly
