Comparing 8GB and 16GB RAM configurations for AMD Zen 3 processors at 3600MHz performance
Hey everyone, I'm planning to upgrade to a 5600x and want to know if the extra 5-10% speed boost justifies adding more RAM. A pair of 2x8GB 3600MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX would cost around $129 SGD, which is about $97 USD.
It really comes down to the GPU you're using. If you expect your game to be limited by the GPU, then higher settings might not notice much improvement. However, if you want the highest possible frames per second at 1080p on a fast refresh screen, adding more RAM could be beneficial.
At that stage I wouldn't be too concerned about the RAM and could save some cash for other uses. Many folks fixate on benchmarks and overlook the fact that these are variations between 140 fps and 155 fps at 1080p on a 3090. If you're gaming at 1440p with a 3070, I'd really question whether you'll notice any major performance changes.
