I’d choose an AM4 motherboard with a Ryzen 3700X or higher, and have room to upgrade to Zen2+ when they’re available. The LGA1151-2 (9700K) isn’t worth it—it’s decent but this platform is already outdated. A GTX 1080 might limit you to 2K resolution.
