Comparing 3300x and i5-10400F highlights their differences in performance and features.
Hello everyone, I'm still figuring out the best CPU for a budget build. I was considering the 3300X at $229 AUD but someone suggested the i5-10400F instead. It's a bit confusing with Intel's naming conventions. One of the i5-10400F models has LGA1200 and costs $209 AUD, while another has LGA1156 and is $239 AUD. Are these different versions? Which one would be better? And should I go for Ryzen or Intel? My build will run Minecraft, Apex Legends, Blender, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, YouTube, and other games. Thanks!
The i5 model should perform better, though I assume you're referring to the 10400F and 11400F. The LGA1156 socket is quite outdated.
LGA1200 is the connector used by 10th and 11th generation Intel processors. The LGA1156 is quite old and wouldn't fit the CPUs you're looking at in this class and price range. It might just be an error in the product details. For your tasks, a better option would be the 10400F. Using Premiere or Photoshop on a quad-core setup would be very challenging.
