Hello! Upgrading to a Ryzen 3600 this week is great, and planning a 2080S with 32GB RAM sounds solid. Deciding between 3600MHz and 3000MHz depends on your needs—3600MHz offers better performance for most tasks, while 3000MHz might be sufficient if you're not pushing the processor to its limits. Overclocking isn’t necessary unless you’re targeting extreme performance.

I just wanted to mention getting a 3600 with 3600 RAM. I don’t think people will really notice the difference in everyday situations. Also, even if the speeds are slower, fast RAM doesn’t always matter.

Honestly, the 3200MHz is a good balance, but if you can afford it, going up to 3600MHz would be better. With a 3000MHz RAM from Samsung, you could likely push it to around 3400MHz (like with G.Skill Trident Z series). That should help!

It’s already past the optimal level. You can get reasonable improvements up to around 3000-3200Mhz, but beyond that it offers little value. If the price change is only 5-10$, it might be worth considering. Otherwise, it’s not a good investment.

Review the CAS latency figures too. For instance, 3600 MHz RAM paired with 13ms CAS won't offer higher performance compared to 3000 MHz RAM with 10ms CAS.

It seems you didn’t anticipate that idea—it comes out naturally! The CAS latency at 3000MHz is 15, while at 3600MHz it’s 16. It costs roughly £20 extra for a 16GB module, bringing the total to about £40. I’m leaning toward sticking with 3000MHz and aiming for a boost to around 3200. Thanks for your guidance!
