Hello Experts, Almost everything is set for assembly... the CPU is missing... I'm holding off until Black Friday to save some money, just need your final tips. I'm not aiming for major upgrades and don't plan to break world records. I'm not using software like Adobe, just focusing on gaming. My current setup for the next five years includes:
- Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790
- RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3600MHz DDR4
- Power Supply: Corsair RM1000 Gold
- GPU: RTX4090 Founders Edition
- SSD: Corsair Force MP600 PRO PCIe NVMe 1TB
playing games on the pure setup works perfectly even with a 13600k processor.
I chose the 13700K because it offers eight full P cores, unlike the 13900K which focuses on higher default frequency and E-cores with a modest cache boost. The 13700K at 5.5GHz outperforms the stock 13900K, while the 13600K at 5.6GHz only slightly edges out the 13700K. Running them at the same speed, the 13900K and likely the 13700K are about 7% faster than the 13600K. It's a modest gain, but it makes wanting eight P cores in 2022 worthwhile. The 13900K doesn't justify itself unless you're prioritizing extra E-cores.
I’d choose the 13900ks with 6GHz stock paired with a 4090, plus an 8000MHz DDR5 CL30.
These high numbers are likely driven by marketing and speculation rather than solid fundamentals.
