Hi everyone, I'm checking if my Gigabyte B150M-D3H board with a 1866MHz RAM was slowing down my CPU. I ran Cinebench five times at 1333 and 1866 MHz, getting 1414 and 981 respectively. The lower speed gave a higher average. With an i5-6600 and Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8GB DDR3 at 2400MHz, it seems the slower RAM is causing a bottleneck. Why does this happen?
I just noticed the latency changes with frequency: at 1333MHz it's 9-9-9-28, while at 1866MHz it jumps to 11-13-13-31. This could slow my PC noticeably. If that happens, would switching to DDR4 help? I’m thinking about upgrading.
