Hello! I've just set up a new system and am looking for advice on the operating system. Since my main use is gaming, I'm considering between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Any suggestions?

There seems to be only a slight variation, perhaps in the interface. I believe Windows 8.1 performs better with certain games while Windows 7 handles others more smoothly. I favor Windows 7, though that’s personal.

With a solid machine and SSD, I recommend Windows 8.1 and Star 8 for the start menu.

I could consider Windows 8.1, but if I don't like it, I'll switch to Windows 7 Ultimate instead.

Windows 7 is the best overall, I don't understand why some people prefer Windows 98.1 so much.

In fact, the only advantage Windows 7 has is its old interface. I don't understand why people hold onto things so strongly.
