You're exploring upgrades to maximize your Ryzen 5 1500X and 3060 Ti setup. Considering CPU performance, you might want to think about a 3600 or wait for the 5600X. Your current specs are solid, but the GPU bottleneck could limit potential gains.

Is your motherboard compatible with the 5600X? Both models are excellent, but the 5600X is currently quite expensive. If you plan to upgrade now, especially since you already have the GPU, the 3600 seems like a better option. If you're patient or willing to spend more, the 5600X offers superior performance in the long run, though the price difference isn't worth it for most users.

What resolution and refresh rate are you considering? For 1080p it poses a significant challenge, but for 1440p it's more manageable. When targeting 1440p, verify if your motherboard supports a BIOS update for the Ryzen 5000 series—unlikely on a B350 board. If available, wait for the 5600(non-x) or at least until the 5600x becomes reasonably affordable. Alternatively, opt for a 3600 or 3600x. Purchasing a 5600x along with a new motherboard would cost roughly twice as much as buying a 3600 (based on my location).

I suggest choosing option C, monitor eBay and obtain an open box 3800xt for approximately $320 US.

Wait for the 5000 series to become more accessible. Purchasing old technology is problematic unless it's affordable. If it is, the 3600 is now pricier than it was six months prior.

Avoid purchasing older models, wait for the 5000 series to have more availability and consider the 5600x.
