7700k covers gaming needs but it’s the final option. Upgrades aren’t possible. The main reason to buy one now is affordable motherboards or DDR3L support.

If the 7700k performs similarly in games, I’ll go for it. Let’s ditch the 4770k. Based on how my 8700k handles basic FPS, I need a CPU that matches or exceeds its performance. Particularly with a 1080 Ti instead of 1080, I want something that keeps up.
