It varies with your workload. However, I’d consider the 5600XT setup to offer improved performance for gaming, aren’t you limited to just these two configurations?

The 300-series platform is expected to perform more reliably over time. Switching GPUs or CPUs is significantly less expensive than replacing the entire platform.

I play games only and can use Ryzen 5 2600 and i5 9400f. The Ryzen 3300x isn't available here, and the EYEZ 3600 is out of my budget.

The 4770 originated from a different build configuration. For the 2600 or 9400f, a 2600 seems more suitable, though pairing it with a 580 or 5600xt would also be an option.

I was also thinking about that. If I choose the Ryzen 5 2600 with the i5 9400F, I’d pair it with an RX 580. For the i7 4770, I’d go with an RX 5600 XT or an Intel 1660 Ti. I’m leaning toward the i5 9400F since gaming would be the main focus and it should handle it better.

The 9400f is currently on a less stable setup and doesn’t support HT, making a 2600 a more reliable choice.

I’d choose the 9400f because it gives me flexibility to upgrade to a 9700 later while still delivering solid performance. The RX 5600xt might offer better immediate GPU speed, but the 9400f provides future-proofing.
