Compare the 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR6 with the GDDR7 version to understand their differences.
Hi
I noticed there are two versions of the 5060 Ti 16GB available in stores. One with GDDR6 and one with GDDR7. Both with same price.
How is that possible? This is a new card. What happened here? why there are two models one with supposedly newer memory type and they have same prices?
How much is better the GDDR7 version? Why they cost the same?
One example of a GDDR6 version:
You can read GDDR6 on the box, below 16GB.
Also you can check in the specifications here
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B0CHJZDB5G
That's a 4060 model, while the latest one is the 5060.
It used GDDR6 in its previous generation, and now the 5G60 uses GDDR7.
There are more detailed comparisons available online, but the main point is that GDDR7 is roughly 40% faster than GDDR6.
I couldn't figure out why they were priced the same.
For your review, the image displays an RTX 4060 Ti, not the RTX 5060 Ti. This really hinges on your requirements. I’d favor the 4060 Ti over the 5060 Ti mainly because of the 16 GB of VRAM (compared to 8 GB), which makes it much more future-proof and better suited for games that demand a lot of memory. In such cases, your 4060 Ti will clearly outperform the 5060 Ti.
EDIT: Oops, I forgot you mentioned the RTX 5060 Ti with 16 Gb. Then the conclusion becomes quite clear:
this indicates a 20% boost in performance between the two models. If you can achieve about 20% more frames per second at the same cost, it’s definitely worth considering.
