Hey everyone, thanks for your interest. I'm trying to swap out the wireless router my ISP gave me because the signal through walls is really poor. A friend who had the same model faced the same problem and resolved it by replacing the router. I'm considering a similar change and would appreciate advice from someone with more experience. Based on what I know and the prices available locally, I've considered these options: Tenda AC10, Tenda TX2 Pro, AX1500 (ASUS), and the AC1300. All are around the same cost in my area. Do any of you have used one of these before? I'm especially curious about the TX2 Pro's potential for WiFi 6 performance. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
I’d choose RT-AC58U if those are the only choices, since Asus is generally more trusted. Still, most low-cost wireless routers usually behave similarly. If you can return the device if it doesn’t meet expectations, that would be ideal. At least you could try swapping it out for a better model if needed.
Keep in mind, all wireless routers and access points face challenges with signal through physical obstacles. Different materials affect the signal strength in various ways. Expect similar performance across options because of these limitations. This means you’ll likely need alternative solutions to overcome building structures when it comes to WiFi coverage.
