Compare the three processors: Ryzen 5 5600X has six cores, Ryzen 7 3700 offers seven cores, and Ryzen 5800 provides five. Evaluate performance for gaming and tasks like editing or writing. The Ryzen 7 3700 balances well between speed and efficiency, making it a solid choice for both gaming and productivity.

5600x offers good performance, but for a lower budget you might prefer an i5 10400f or i7 10700. The newer i5 11400 or 11700 could also be worth considering.

For a budget-friendly Ryzen setup, the 5600X offers strong performance, especially in gaming, and significantly improves over previous generations like the 3800X. While it may not match the core count/threads of newer models, it delivers impressive speed for streaming, video editing, and multitasking. If you're willing to spend around the MSRP, the 5800X would be a better choice for productivity. At its price point, I wouldn't suggest opting for a Ryzen from the 3000 series.

The cooler included with the 5600 appears to be functional, but consider checking its condition and compatibility before deciding to replace it entirely.

Until the noise becomes an issue (or you need more processing power based on demand), performance could jump from 25 to 200 MHz, depending on temperatures. It’s simple to swap it for a different option.

Unfortunately, the cooler in the 5600 isn’t very good. You might find a budget Wraith Prism one for a small price. I managed to buy it for just a dollar.

For the 5600X, choose the model that fits your needs best. If you're just beginning, consider what features matter most—performance, value, or ease of use. I’d recommend testing it out before deciding.

Well, many builders or overclockers skip the original coolers right away, so you can easily find affordable AMD Wraith Prism options for a small price. Most of these are brand new and perform quite well overall. I saw a noticeable 6 to 10 degree improvement switching from the stock 5600X cooler to a Wraith Prism model. Outside of that, you can simply purchase a fresh cooler from your preferred retailer when you buy the CPU. The choice really hinges on your budget, whether you intend to overclock or not, and if you want quiet operation or stable low temperatures. Personally, I prefer Cooler Master, Arctic Cooling, Noctua, and stick with air coolers. Just confirm the cooler fits the AM4 socket and you’re good to go.

It's sufficient if your PC has adequate airflow. Otherwise, a budget $15 cooler would be preferable. You don't require a top-of-the-line cooler to function.
