Consider your needs carefully. For mostly reading PDFs, taking notes, making flashcards, and browsing the web, a Ryzen 5 would likely offer better performance and efficiency. An i3 might suffice but could be slower for intensive tasks.

Tell me your budget and country. What PSU do you have? Which i3 model? Just to say, a Ryzen 5 would be too much for your needs, and even the latest Ryzen 3s might be overkill.

Considering a Lenovo Flex 5 with a Ryzen 5 at about $853 and an i3 at $620, but noting the i3 only has 4GB RAM (non-upgradable) and a smaller SSD.

On mobile - Ryzen is the best choice And 4GB won't be enough anymore with the latest Windows 10 version
