I've never seen that before, so it could be outdated. But... it seems like a modem or router. Is that the sole device providing internet access? Or do you also have a separate modem? If it's the only thing you have, you'll need another modem as well. You might be able to connect it in bridge mode if that's the only option, though it could still work poorly. Could you tell me your ISP and where you're located? I'll answer more questions tomorrow when I'm awake.
Consider beginning with a fresh router. Searching for Wi-Fi-only options revealed just one Ethernet port for LAN, meaning additional wired devices would require a switch unless you already have one. I’d try it before moving forward.
You were planning to take apart everything and connect it close to your router, then try streaming. So far it seems to be working perfectly with full signal strength. I’m not keen on spending $200-300 just for this; if it functions nearby, a repeater should suffice. Otherwise, I’ll need a new router. The main problem is the Xbox struggles when it’s far from the router—though it’s now plugged in directly, there are occasional lag moments.
