Hello, I've boosted the 4300 to 3.9 GHz (268 MHz) on a 310-watt PSU. It's feasible to push the CPU further using GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev 5 with Antec A30 cooler paste and Thermal Grease MasterGel Pro. How much more can I push the 4300 beyond the stock 6300? Regards.

You can push performance beyond limits until the hardware shakes or overheats. As long as temperatures stay within range, you can keep increasing output as long as stress tests function properly. How much you achieve depends largely on cooling efficiency, which feels like a random draw with silicone parts. A few reach higher speeds, while others never hit 50 hz.

Yes... but both your motherboard and CPU are from a build around four years old, made in June 2014. For stress testing, use the default voltage settings on the motherboard BIOS. The AMD Overdrive should be enabled to allow CPU overclocking. Thanks for reaching out!

For instance Aida64 is a good choice for stress testing. Check your mainboards capacitors. If they’re fine, everything should work. If they become too large or protrude, they’ll fail sooner, especially when pushing overclock speeds and voltages. Even my old 775 board, which has been running for over ten years, could still be overclocked until the capacitors broke down. Regarding settings, I’m not the best fit for AMD chips. My previous build was an Athlon 2600 XP, and after that I switched to Intel.

What if you boosted the clock speed and it worked initially but then caps failed afterward?

It's unusual to run at 3.9GHz on an FX CPU—consider using a BIOS overclock instead for better stability. A voltage of 1.4V seems excessive; go with a safer setting.

I haven't adjusted it manually yet. I'm checking if you're using AMD Overdrive or BIOS for the overclocking.
