You’re looking at a budget of around $3,000 and need a portable device for video, photo, 3D work. You’re torn between a MacBook Pro 15.3" and a Windows laptop in the same price range. What matters most is portability and performance for your editing and modeling needs.

If you're doing that, it's best to consider Windows laptops.

I’d search for a card featuring significant storage capacity, preferably a Quadro or FirePro model.

Request a MSI GT80 or another high-performance laptop featuring a powerful GPU and CPU, such as a Eurocom model.

MacBooks come with Final Cut Pro X. For professional editing, consider the MacBook Pro. I don’t have any information about Windows laptops.

OS X is the platform I prefer, though unless you're targeting Final Cut, the impact won't be significant.

Final cut and Adobe Premiere are both video editing tools, but they differ in features and platforms. Final cut is a professional software often used for advanced editing, while Adobe Premiere is a popular choice for beginners and content creators on a broader range of devices.

The MSI laptops combine style with performance, making it possible to run both Windows and OS X smoothly. I designed my setup with that in mind, and everything functions perfectly. While I’m not an Apple enthusiast, I appreciate their products and software, which is why I chose this path. Often people ask about the best choice between Mac and PC, but when you compare them directly, there’s no real difference. If you want the ability to use both operating systems on your device, why not?
