This along with AVG 2015 Free works well. I don't suggest any of the three mentioned in the initial comment.

It's tough to type "idiot" accurately... Besides that, Norton uses a lot of processing power, but with an 8-core setup like yours, it shouldn't be an issue.

Based on my own experience, Norton tends to be very thorough and protective. It outperformed AVG in four out of five tests. Still, Bitdefender comes out stronger in this comparison. I haven’t tried it myself yet, so I can’t judge based on personal taste. Additionally, unlike others who rely on antivirus software, I no longer use one. Pairing MSE with Malwarebytes works well and uses fewer system resources compared to traditional antivirus programs.

I only had positive interactions with Kaspersky. I've been updating it on all the computers I support, and I haven't encountered any malware issues in the past five years. Previously, I used to deal with two or three infections each week, which seems counterproductive...

I tried Avast and faced a lot of issues with my computer. After installing Norton, it quickly spotted 7 malware files and has remained stable over the last three years.
