considering your situation, it seems better to opt for the cheaper model. The Tomahawk Max is 130 USD while the B550 A Pro costs 180 USD. Since you won’t need M.2 Gen 4 slots, saving a bit of money makes sense. Go with the Tomahawk Max or B550 A Pro instead.

I don’t have personal plans, but it looks like the B450 series is likely nearing its end of support. You might want to check for updates soon.

Am4 will stop receiving updates beyond Zen3. The AM4 connector is set to become outdated for upcoming Ryzen chips after the 4000 line.

b550 offers little extra value compared to b450. the tomahawk is a solid board with good performance and enough features. if you can, choose the b550 tomahawk; otherwise, stick with the b450. a newer chipset on an older motherboard is preferable to a newer chipset on a less capable board.
