MSI and Gigabyte both offer strong motherboards, but it depends on your needs. MSI often excels in gaming performance, while Gigabyte provides reliable value for everyday use. Your choice should match your budget and intended use.

I strongly dislike most Gigabyte items. Whenever I try to buy one, they consistently make some foolish error. My neighbor’s Gigabyte board features dual BIOS settings, which constantly flip around and mess up the configuration. Still, it’s important not to base your decisions solely on brand—each manufacturer offers both excellent and flawed products.

I own an MSI Z370 gaming plus and haven’t faced any problems with it yet. I appreciate how MSI organizes their motherboards into three main groups: MAG for budget options like the B460, MPG for mid-range boards such as the Z590 gaming plus, and MEG for premium models like the Z590 godlike. Most other brands just list everything together, making it hard to find what you need. Thanks for the helpful comment! One more thing—so far MSI is the only one I’ve seen offering regular live streams where you can ask questions directly.

This choice depends on personal taste. Both brands are well-established. When I purchased the Z390 board, I chose Gigabyte because of their superior VRM and cooling options back then. The dual BIOS from Gigabyte is convenient if one fails, allowing a switch. Still, Gigabyte's BIOS displays are quite poor. MSI offers a more contemporary feel and seems easier to use. I’d likely target a budget that fits your expectations and check reviews within that range.

I've tried both without any issues, though the MSI offered a handy option to update BIOS using just power and a USB stick. I’m not using them anymore since I prefer Asus. Just set your budget limit and check them side by side.

Great recommendation. I began using Asus once more after previously steering clear of them due to past warranty problems.

I checked gigabyte earlier and they organized their motherboards in one place quickly. If you're wondering whether it's a better option, it depends on what you need—whether it's durability or performance.

Their top range is the highest tier, next comes the ultra strong model, and finally their brand name stands out. Figuring out marketing tactics and what sets them apart can be tricky.

The two brands mentioned are connected, with one acting as the parent company.
