Your Kaspersky Internet Security plan has 15 days remaining, and you're unsure whether to keep it or switch to another antivirus. While Kaspersky has generally performed well for you, it has had startup issues on one of your laptops. You're considering comparing it with Malwarebytes, which you plan to purchase. Adding Malwarebytes as an extra layer of protection is a smart move.

I use Kaspersky and haven't encountered any issues yet. Bitdefender caused some trouble initially, but overall both are quite reliable.

Yes, generally it's better to choose the free option for beginners. As long as you have the latest Windows updates, the risk of infection remains low. I don’t use any antivirus software and haven’t encountered issues, especially with XP. Also, Windows 8 includes a solid built-in antivirus.

In that scenario... I'm not a typical user. Kaspersky has filtered numerous items. Some viruses have even caused it to fail.
