I need an update for the CPU section. Right now I'm using Ryzen 1700x with several components: Crosshair Hero VI, DDR4 3200 CL14, RTX2080, NVMe SSDs, and a few other parts. I run music production, editing, and video work in DaVinci Resolve, and I play games at high frame rates. For gaming, I'm happy with 100fps on medium settings without needing GPU upgrades. I've been considering Intel options like the 13700k or 7900X, but so far the AM5 MBOs are costly. My plan is to stick with my current build—Intel i7 13700k around 450 euros, a budget MBO under 400 euros with 10 USB ports (enough for external controllers), and DDR5/64 RAM if it fits under 450 euros. I'm not completely sure yet, but I'm leaning toward this setup. What do you think?

Your motherboard is ready for the 5900X or 5950X thanks to a simple BIOS update, with ample VRM capacity. Are you certain you want to replace everything at once, or would it be better to upgrade just the CPU and add a few RAM sticks for lower cost and less hassle?

He’s likely targeting multi-threaded tasks, so the 5950x fits well. I’d grab a budget 16GB DDR4 3200 for $45 and blend it in. If the appearance or memory tuning bothers you, a 32GB 2x16 3200 CL16 for $70 is a better option. A 650W rating isn’t ideal here, but since it’s a premium model, it should work.

Considering the costs, upgrading to DDR4 memory would total around 600 euros, while a new 5800X3D would cost about 200 euros. That leaves room for four 8GB modules at 3200 MHz. If you choose the 5800X3D path, a 5600X3D might be more practical. For Zen4, higher-end options like 6000X or 6800X would likely offer better performance and value.

Using a 13700k b660 Msi mortar with DDR4 board at CL14 3200 is my setup.

The MBO lacks sufficient UBS connections. As mentioned earlier, I require a minimum of 10 ports, with 12 being ideal.

The device I'm using isn't functioning correctly with the hubs (USB dongle, Midi Controllers, and external audio controllers).

Thanks for the updates. I’m considering the 5900x + 64 DDR4 @3200 + 2TB SSD Crucial under 750 euros. The 5950x seems more expensive than expected, so it won’t work. I’ll sell my existing RAM for 80 euros, making this a stronger choice so far. Any other thoughts before I finalize?
