So the decision comes from an older second generation Threadripper, Cascade Lake X, and Third Gen Threadripper. I think network cards might be the cause.

We would switch to the i9-10900X if we disabled two cores. The price gap isn't justified unless performance gains matter.

The WS X570-ACE supports 8x/8x/8x connections in all its PCI-E slots, making it the only X570 board that fully utilizes the AFAIK chipset. Is that sufficient?
